Famciclovir
Type of Medication: AntiViral
Indications: Treatment of herpes zoster, acute genital herpes simplex, and suppression of recurrent genital herpes
Side Effects: nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, confusion, hallucinations, rash, abdo pain, fever
Route of administration: Adult (Oral)
Dose:For herpes zoster give 250mg tds or 750mg od for 7 days. In the immunocompromised 500 mg tds for 10 days. Genital herpes: 1st episode: 250mg tds for 5 days recurrence 125mg twice a day for 5 days.Suppression therapy: 250mg bd interupted every 6-12
