Vitamin E

Type of Medication: Vitamin

Indications: Prevention or correction of low serum vitamin E levels.

Side Effects: Diarrhoea, abdominal pain at doses greater than 1000mg/day

Route of administration: Adult (Oral)

Dose:Start at 200 mg od. Dose usually 200-800mg. Always monitor levels

Administration: Give with food and enzymes if pancreatic insufficient. Dose adjusted according to fasting blood levels.

Route of administration: Paediatric (Oral)

Dose:1 month – 1 yr 50 mg/day. 1 – 12 years: 100 mg/day. 12-18 years: 200 mg / day.
